It now feels like a while ago since the house was full of Christmas clutter . I always feel the urge to declutter in the New Year everywhere in the house. I love to start with my wardrobe . I tend to edit my wardrobe every six months . Here are my quick tips hope you will find them useful .
Tip 1 - Do it Gradually
Take out the definite no items, these items will be items that you know need to go . We all cling on to items we have previously loved. Items that remind us of a special holiday or expensive items that we have not worn for years . Items that no longer fit us . Keeping these items will just get in the way of you doing a proper wardrobe edit .
Tip 2 - Be honest
As you try on clothes ask yourself when did you last wear the item ?
Does it suit your style or current lifestyle ?
Does the colour suit ?
Is the fit right ?
How do you feel in the clothes ?
Can you find three or three or more ways of styling it ?
Tip 3 Be Objective
Ask yourself if I saw this in a shop would I like it or want to buy it
Take photographs of yourself in the items you are unsure about
Ask yourself is there someone else I know who would get more use out of them than me
Four piles of the items to go -
Charity
Family / friends
Sell via various sites such as eBay , Vinted or Depop
Hire via various sites such as Hurr Collective

Tip 4 - The process
Have you worn it in last six months . Turning hangers the wrong way round in your wardrobe with all the items you have decide to keep . When you wear it put it back in wardrobe with hanger the right way . This is an easy way to see what you have worn in last six months . I bet this will surprise you and hopefully you will see a capsule wardrobe developing .,
